The On Kawara Code (May 2008)
The work of conceptual artist On Kawara (1932–2014) reproduced using computer code. Part of the inspiration of this was to illustrate how computers have made trivial what was once labour intensive and remarkable.
The project was announced through an email sent on the Victoria Day holiday Monday of May 19 2008. The email's subject line "I am still alive" along with its highlighted mono font deliberately echoed Kawara's use of snail-mail with the message.
For a while this project was a footnote on On Kawara's Wikipedia page
